TOKYO Japan's oldest and most famous twin sisters, Kin and Gin gold and silver , turned 107 Sunday AFP reported yesterday. "Thanks everybody for coming today," Gin said before television cameras, replying to the clapping of hands by relatives and Lions Club members to celebrate the Birthday in the northern Japanese city of Sapporo. The twins shovelled some earth for Magnolia trees as guests to a tree-planting ceremony at a park and marched there in a white horse-led hooded carriage.
They will return to their home town of Nagoya in central Japan late Sunday after attending a birthday party in Sapporo. Kin Narita and Gin Kanie have become idols in Japan with a series of appearances in television and other advertisements. They once said they would save income from media appearances "to provide for our old age".
